Out of the Shadows

For over a month now, I've been hiding, but tonight, I've decided to make my comeback. In my last post I mis-spelled a name, and I was down in the dumps because I knew that the stretch up-coming in Sports was going to test my will to watch....and it did. However, now I've got the fever of March Madness, and baseball is right around the corner. That means a lot to me because I absolutely hate selling in the off season and getting back to broadcasting games (doing what I am best at) is like bringing me to an all you can eat buffet line and telling me I dont have to worry about gaining any weight because this magical pill you take when you leave will eliminate all of the calories you just took in.

Some things to consider.......I dont have much input on March Madness itself because I just havent given College Hoops the attention it deserves this year. That may actually help me fill out my brackets because its been proven in the past that the more you know, the more you analyze, the more you analyze, the worse off you are.....OK maybe not, but I've decided to take a different approach this year. I just hope Michigan State wakes up and makes a strong run in the tournament.

The NFL Draft is right around the corner and I am really starting to get excited. The Packers made a HUGE signing, re-upping Defensive End Aaron Kampman. A lot of fans dont believe it, but he is a BETTER overall player than KGB. To me this begs the question, will they draft DE Mario Williams and move KGB to OLB or will they draft AJ Hawk now that they have both of their defensive ends locked up?

The Redskins and Browns are both making noise in the free agent pool. We've known about the problems for the Browns on the o-line since they came back into the league, and they took a MASSIVE step in the right direction toward improving that unit this weekend by signing LeCharles Bentley. They have also signed Ted Washington who will eat up blockers in the 3-4 system, and they are in a good position to draft Demeco Ryans or Chad Greenway with the 12th overall pick in the draft. Sure, I'm not a Browns fan, but that franchise is supported just as well as any other Franchise in sports, and they havent been good for a very long time, so I am happy to see those guys significantly better themselves in the off-season.

The Redskins are at it signing guys at will once again. Signing Carter and Archuleta on defense should only make this defense even more aggressive, and better in the off season. Greg Williams finds innovative ways to put pressure on the passer, and Archuleta has 12 more sacks than he does interceptions in his career. Carter has underachieved a lot and a change of scenery may be just what he needs. Keep in mind, Carter will fill the void left by Lavar Arrington who never lived up to all of the hype after being drafted 2nd overall in the 2000 draft.

Keep in mind, I'm due for more posts, but our season starts in 3 weeks, and when the season starts, I wont have as much time to put posts up. I will do my best, and I'd love to do some NFL Draft Posting here in the next few weeks. Stay tuned.
